Welcome to Sheldon Coates Elementary School!
At SCES, our mission is to provide each student with a variety of rigorous and engaging learning activities that cultivate independence and encourage curiosity. We do this by delivering high-quality learning environments and experiences that promote the academic, social, and emotional development of the young children we serve. This work is undergirded by the principle that all kids are our kids and the belief that all students can learn at high levels.
Our school has many strengths. Our dedicated teachers and support staff are lifelong learners who continuously seek to improve their professional practice to enhance student learning. Being located adjacent to the forest, we can provide authentic outdoor learning experiences for every student every day. We have strong working relationships with our partners in education, including our parent/guardian community and several local businesses and organizations.
